1953 DDO WASHINGTON NGC PF 69 CAMEO- Crossing The Delaware
The EXTREMEY SCARCE 1953 Double Die Obverse Washington! Only 25 TOTAL 1953 DDO’S have been graded in all grades by NGC, and of those just 2 are graded in PF 69 Cameo with NONE graded higher! The PF 69 Cameo grade is rare among 1953 Washingtons in general, with only 42 graded combined DDO and the regular variety. On top of all that…. THIS LOOKS LIKE AN ULTRA CAMEO! It just misses the grade if it had a pinch more frost on the already frost-buried devices. Both Washington and the Eagle are fully frosted and snow and sit on deep, pitch-black mirrors for maximum contrast. The surfaces are impeccable with no spots, haze, or toning in sight. This is flawless to the naked eye! The doubling is VERY apparent along Washington’s profile, from the bottom of his neck to his nose. This is not only one of the neatest coins we’ve been able to offer, but also one of the finest among its year! CVI: 1-1-3
